Last Saturday afternoon after watching the Tuscon shooting news story develop live, I made a post about it. I presented the comments made by the sheriff, Clarence Dupnik, during his news conference. I've reposted those below. While listening to him speak, nothing seemed political to me. I admire him for "telling it like it is". I believe that he provided his description of declining mass social mood. It was amazing to watch the Fox News Militia attack him all week. The "big baffoon", Rush, took him on.
"When you look at unbalanced people, how they respond to the vitriol that comes out of certain mouths about tearing down the government. The anger, the hatred, the bigotry that goes on in this country is getting to be outrageous. Let me just say one thing, because people tend to poo-poo this business about all the vitriol that we hear inflaming the American public by people who make a living off of doing that. That may be free speech. But it's not without consequences."

Will The Real Christians Please Stand Up
Some of the comments over the past few days from the "Republican Right" are just shocking. Being a non-party carrying member, I'll make an unbiased, direct comment. It is my personal opinion that the people known as the "Republican Right" are the most non-Christian behaving people that I know. If I remember correctly, Jesus was about love and compassion.
“There goes Obama again – he lives to help the downtrodden. The Haiti earthquake was made to order for Obama. Obama will use Haiti to boost credibility with the light-skinned and dark-skinned black community in this country.”
Rush Limbaugh, The Big Babbling Buffoon
"They were under the heel of the French. You know, Napoleon III, or whatever. And they got together and swore a pact to the devil. They said, we will serve you if you'll get us free from the French. True story. And so, the devil said, okay it's a deal."
Pat Robertson (one day after the Haitian earthquake)
"The mob will get even more angry. Beware of the angry white American man carrying the Bible. Xenophobia will continue to increase. Muslims and Mexicans will continue to be the easy targets. Which group or culture is next?"

A repost from a few months ago:
"The Democrats seem to be basically nicer people, but they have demonstrated time and again that they have the management skills of celery. They're the kind of people who'd stop to help you change a flat, but would somehow manage to set your car on fire. I would be reluctant to entrust them with a Cuisinart, let alone the economy. The Republicans, on the other hand, would know how to fix your tire, but they wouldn't bother to stop because they'd want to be on time for Ugly Pants Night at the country club." Dave Barry

An Interesting Question
"If we treat the credit doubling that occurred between 2000 and 2008 (from $26 to $52 trillion) as a normal bubble that will follow the same pattern of decline as numerous historical bubbles, then we might reasonably predict that some $26 trillion of debt will somehow "go away" over the next 6 years. This is indeed a massive black hole."
Chris Martenson www.chrismartenson.com
I once again turn to the theory of "mass social mood". U.S. debt rises from $26 to $52 trillion during the Bush administration and there are no tea parties. No protests. No communists nametags. No socialist remarks. No threats. No angry town halls. Isn't that interesting?
While the cycle "turned over" in the 1999-2000 timeframe, the "momentum of the mood" is just gaining steam. A few trillion of debt additions this year and the mob is seeking a lynching. Prior to the Obama administration taking office, the U.S. had $54 trillion of underfunded obligations. Why is Team Red just getting mad now? Why didn't they get mad at Bush? Why weren't Rush, Sean, and Ann lashing out at Bush for not dealing with this massive debt obligation? Why were they okay with increasing it by $26 trillion over 8 years?

The Blame Game
The angry mob is seeking culprits. The game of politics is hot as ever. Rush Limbaugh has resurfaced as the Republican hero. Obama is now to blame for this whole crisis. Those with financial losses are seeking someone to blame. The great financial maestro, Alan Greenspan, is finally losing some luster. My neighbor recently said "if the damn media would stop talking about negative things, everything would be okay".......Really?
The mortgage crisis is a great microcosm to examine. The individuals who now have mortgages resetting to higher rates are "playing the victim". We were all participants in the mortgage game. The refinancing, the home equity loans.....we all played the game in some fashion. When the tide is rising, we're happy participants, but when it lowers we seek someone other than ourselves to blame. As they say, "it takes two to tango". We've done the tango in many arenas since 1982. We've participated in a system, and all participants should accept responsibility. Our actions resemble someone with a massive hangover blaming the bartender. The bartender served up what we ordered. Lets face it, hangovers are unpleasant and they last for some time. Rarely, do we gain wisdom after the hangover. History proves that we immediately seek the next party (e.g. Dotcom party ends, real estate party begins).

In a recent issue, Time Magazine generated a Top 25 list of who to blame. Blame typically is a process where one releases themselves of personal responsibility.
Save yourself some time and negative energy. Fly your helicopter above "the noise", and seek a higher understanding of what is transpiring. Assess the situation and try to understand the potential outcomes. What are the probabilities of each? How will each one impact me personally? What can I do to improve the situation for myself, my family, and my friends? This approach will result in a much different feeling. Instead of the "blame game", you can focus on the "solution game".

Rush & Terrell
Two of my least favorite people are making news this week: Rush Limbaugh and Terrell Owens. They both focus on blowing hot air out of their mouths on a weekly basis. I'm one that prefers action to words. If you're a great receiver, then go out each week and show the world your talents. Take note from Marvin Harrison and Jerry Rice. I'm a huge Colts fan and I don't think that I've ever heard Marvin Harrison do an interview. His actions speak volumes.

Now big boy Rush Limbaugh. As most of you know, I don't claim a team. I voted for Ron Paul. Limbaugh, for years, just sits on his fat butt spewing venom and pouring fuel on the fires. His approach is destructive and it might explain his need to "pop some pills". I still remember listening to his radio show years ago while riding in the car with my favorite Republican. At the time, doughboy, was focused on the American Indian. I don't recall what his beef was with them, but I just remember him playing this "Indian chant" in the background.....very disrespectful.
As the tide continues to fall, we will be challenged by major negativity. Everyone wants someone to blame. Limbaugh specializes in this process. As I said in a recent post, "rise above" this behavior and take constructive action instead. In the near future, many will call on you to join their team and their cause. Choose wisely my friends.
